For Bowlers - Intro
This section is to help you develop and improve your game.

We find bowlers who have progressed through "beginners" stage and have acquired a fair degree of skill in many departments. It is at this stage that frustrations are high. It would seem that the apprenticeship is over and some further work on improvement must be sought.

It is decision time, as the bowler now needs to decide in which direction the individual may wish to continue. For some it will be the social aspect of the game which will almost certainly involve team games for pleasure and relaxation. For others this will be an opportunity to "specialise" in one or two directions and a forward plan should be identified.

At this time, bowlers are aware of the variety of shots, tactical moves and playing positions which are to be learnt. The great problem is which one? This will depend on personal choice and must be based on the desire to achieve AND enjoy. There may be a general deterioration in consistency throughout, as the player is constantly learning new skills.

For example, the consistent lead player may now choose to move further down the playing order in a team. Required to play a variety of shots, which include firing, otherwise referred to as the drive, this may affect the ability to control the draw shot for which the player had formally based their style of play.
