Leicestershire win National Fours Championship

Leicestershire have won the National Fours Championship at Beach House Park, Worthing.

The four of John Torrington, Vic Mayes, Steve Wade and Andy Irons from Blaby beat Devon's Mark Hopkins, Jeff Tolchard, Alan Hirst and Sean Johnson from Kings (Torquay) 23-22 in a nail-biting final.

They had earlier reached the final with a 23-20 win against Ben Render, Dominic Kelly, Mick Stocks and Nigel Brignell from Nafferton, Yorkshire.

In the other semi-final, the Devon four beat John Howes, John Casale, Alan Harman and Jim Paveling of North London, Middlesex 21-13.
