Cambridgeshire win Aviva Men's National Triples Championship

Cambridgeshire's Jamie Stewart, Robert Drew and Richard Catton have won the Aviva Men's National Triples Championship.

The Cambridge City & County BC trio, whose average age is less than 20, beat Devon's David Veal, Glenn Allen and Robert Paxton (Exonia BC) 17-14 in today's final at Beach House Park, Worthing.

They had earlier beaten Buckinghamshire's David Ross, Peter Gosling and Kirk Smith (Gerrards Cross BC) whilst Devon beat Huntingdonshire's Jeff Newson, Tristan Morton and Martin Durber (Parkway BC) in the other semi-final.

Results:

Semi-finals:
Exonia BC, Devon (R Paxton) bt Parkway BC, Hunts (M Durber) 18-8;
Cambridge & County BC, Cambs (R Catton) bt Gerrards Cross BC, Bucks (K Smith) 20-14;

Final:
