Bowls England invites all Members to third Annual Conference

Are you a Bowls England Member? Would you like to find out more about your National Governing Body and what it does for you?

Then come along to the Bowls England Annual Conference at the Town Hall, Royal Leamington Spa, on Wednesday 7th April from 11am.

The event, which is free to attend, gives all Members the opportunity to find out more information on a number of important topics including club funding, playing unaffiliated clubs and recruiting new members.

Those who attend will also be able to have their say on several key issues, including the use of surgical gloves and the possible future introduction of a 'Generation Pairs' competition, and to see the latest Bowls England merchandise for the first time.

Tony Allcock MBE, Bowls England Chief Executive, said: "The Annual Conference provides an excellent opportunity for all Members to learn more about the work of Bowls England, and also to provide us with feedback on what we do. We are especially keen to see people at the conference from our clubs and counties who are not able to attend Bowls England General Meetings. So why not get together a car from your club, neighbouring clubs or county to come and find out what is happening in more detail."

The conference will run from 11am-4pm, with opportunities throughout the day for questions from the floor.

To help more people to attend, Bowls England is offering travel assistance for one car from each county, so individuals are encouraged to contact their County Secretary for information on seat availability within that car. There is no car parking at the venue, but there are a number of Public Car Parks in the town centre.

Tea/coffee and biscuits will be available at the venue on arrival. There are a number of cafes and restaurants nearby for lunch, or attendees may choose to bring a packed lunch with them. Bowls England merchandise, including new items for 2010, will also be available for sale at the venue.
