The Bowls England Greens Loan Scheme helps Affiliated Clubs to access funding to pay for any item related to the bowling surface and its surrounds, such as lawn mowers, scarifiers, turf irons, automatic sprinkler systems, ditches and banks.
In 2008 Bowls England supported clubs through nearly £40,000 worth of Greens Loans, which were used to help fund improvements such as new banks and ditches, and to enable clubs to buy new equipment including mowers and aerators.
The maximum amount for a greens loan is £4,000 for any one item, but clubs can apply for more than one loan if they are looking to purchase more than one item. The granting of any loan is dependent upon Bowls England having unallocated funds available at the time an application is received.
