Review of the Laws of the Sport of Bowls

When the Laws of the Sport of Bowls (Crystal Mark edition) were approved in March 2006 it was agreed at that time that a review of their effectiveness would be undertaken in 2009 so that any changes could be considered at the World Bowls OGM in 2010.

That review has been carried out by the World Bowls Laws Committee resulting in the following documentation being distributed for discussion and approval in October 2010.

This has been a time consuming and extensive consultation exercise which has involved input from all Member National Authorities, including Bowls England, which responded on behalf of the many members who responded to an invitation to have their say during the consultation process.

The World Bowls Laws Committee is satisfied that it has carefully considered all representations made and that the changes now being recommended are in the best interests of the sport. It is envisaged that the revised laws, if agreed, will be implemented from the start of the 2011 outdoor season in England.
