Adam Tanner has stepped down from the Bowls England board for personal reasons. Adam joined the board in 2014 and has delivered over a decade of service. Hailing from Wiltshire, Adam has been a passionate advocate of bowls and a keen supporter of junior development in our sport.

A qualified lawyer, Adam has brought considerable expertise to Bowls England most recently leading our work on the review of our disciplinary regulations. He was instrumental in launching a podcast series, which helped bring members closer to Bowls England, delivered valuable guidance on GDPR and reviewed commercial contracts with his professional expertise. Having worked with Wiltshire Under 25s, Adam was a keen supporter of Bowls England’s efforts with the junior age group squads and helped with our junior development day.

Adam Tanner stated, “I have greatly enjoyed and valued my period as a Bowls England Director. I feel that the organisation is in a much better overall position than it was in 2014 and have been pleased to play a part in this progress. I look forward to visiting Royal Leamington Spa during the National Finals in 2025, and beyond, to see the benefits of some of our hard work in full flow.”

Bowls England is not looking to undertake elections for a new member-elected Board director and will consider options after the independent director recruitment process has runs its course towards the end of April.
