The English Bowls Umpires Association (EBUA) is the unified governing body for qualified Bowls Umpires in England.

It is responsible for appointing Umpires to any events as requested by the County, National and International Governing Bodies of the Sport of Bowls.

Umpires undergo an intensive training and development programme that covers new candidates through to international officials.

Members consist of men and women who range in age from 16 upwards – and as long as you are physically capable of moving around the green and kneeling to carry out measures age is no barrier.

Some of our members go on to undertake duties at International events including World Bowls Championships and the Commonwealth Games. A few also appear on the TV screen.
