Bedfordshire quartet win Senior Fours title

Bedfordshire’s Dawn Grisley, Maz Fisher, Jenny Ralph and Jackie Bryant, from Potton BC, have won the Women’s National Senior Fours Championship, supported by the Friends of English Bowling.

They defeated Sussex’s Rachel Mackriell, Mary Bray, Julia Fordham and Denise Hodd (Polegrove BC) in this afternoon’s final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

The Bedfordshire quartet progressed to the final with a win against Hertfordshire’s Joan Welch, Aileen Weaver, June Mills and Shirley Bradbury (Riverain BC) in the semi-final, whilst the Sussex four reached the final following victory against Cumbria’s Jeanette Bell, Angela Hayton, Penny Peile and Kath Baxter (Wigton BC).

Semi-finals:
Polegrove, S’sex (D Hodd) bt Wigton, Cumb (K Baxter) 25-12;
Potton, Beds (J Bryant) bt Riverain, Herts (S Bradbury) 20-16;

Final:
Potton, Beds (J Bryant) bt Polegrove, S’sex (D Hodd) 18-13.

Entry to the championships is free of charge. Chargeable parking is available in Victoria Park and in nearby town centre car parks.
