Board positions open for nominations

The launch of our new long term strategy, Fit For The Future, signifies the start of a journey which we believe will result in 1 million playing experiences of our sport by 2026, with many more people realising the joy and benefit of playing our wonderful sport. With Birmingham 2022 also on the horizon, this is an exciting and seminal period for Bowls England to capitalise on increased focus on the sport to drive participation.

As a number of board positions become available, it is an exciting time for the sport. Details of these positions, and that of Junior Vice President, are below.

Board Positions

The member-elected positions are for Competitive Events, Governance and Finance. We are also asking for applications for the position of Independent Director. All of these positions are for a three-year term from the Bowls England AGM in February 2022. A detailed job description for each position is available by clicking on the relevant button below.

The Independent Director interview is an open application, interview and appointment process which is managed by the Bowls England Board. Applications should be made by submitting a cover letter and CV to ourfuture@bowlsengland.com no later than 9am on Monday 4th October 2021.

The member-elected Directors, in accordance with Article 80 c (i) and c (ii) must either be nominated by a Full Member (County Association) or recommended by the Board. A nomination form can be found here or by clicking on the button below and should be completed and returned, along with a CV to ourfuture@bowlsengland.com no later than 9am on Monday 4th October 2021. Should more than one candidate be nominated, details of the nominations will then be made available and voted on by Full Members (County Associations and Board).

Junior Vice President

This role is a key ambassadorial position for Bowls England. The honour comes with the responsibility to represent our organisation and the sport in a manner which reflects our ambitions and values.

All Presidential nominations must either be supported by a full member (county association) or recommended by the Board.
