Bowls England is delighted to announce the appointment of eight International Area Scouts and two International Para Scouts to join the recently announced Performance Team ahead of the 2025 season.
International Area and Para Scouts have a crucial role in our evolving performance pathway – providing a vital link between counties, coaches and International Team Managers and will assist in the selection of all Bowls England international teams by offering data, advice and insight on the development and performance of the talent pool of bowlers in England.
Appointed International Area Scouts are:
North Region
Bernie Hill: South Cave BC, Yorkshire
Shayne Rimmer: Heaton Hall BC & Southport BC, Lancashire
East Region
Catherine Popple: Brampton BC, Huntingdonshire
Stuart Thomas: Rugby BC, Warwickshire
South Region
Julie Skelly: Gerrards Cross BC, Buckinghamshire
Gerry Smyth: Bletchley Town BC, Buckinghamshire
West Region
Julie Leake: Poole Park BC, Dorset
Kevin Phillips: Topsham BC, Devon
Appointed International Para Scouts are:
Para Scout (PD)
Judy Plater: Waddesdon BC, Buckinghamshire
Para Scout (VI)
Nigel Morgan: Haydon Wick BC, Wiltshire
Area and Para Scouts will attend regional events, selection meetings and other fixtures as directed by the International Team Managers, monitoring and recording player performances.
