Bowls England Announces Representatives For 2025 International Events

Bowls England has named its teams for upcoming international events to the end of 2025, following announcement earlier this week of the team for the British Bowls International Series.

There is a packed schedule starting with a Test Match in Ireland, followed by events in Jersey, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Performance Director Mo Monkton said:

“The 2025 season will be crucial as part of our preparation for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. These events provide a great opportunity for our players to perform on the international stage and we look forward to them representing England with pride.”

Test Match - Dublin, Ireland, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July

England make the return visit to the Emerald Isle having secured victory in 2024 when the event was held in Royal Leamington Spa.

Bowls Europe Under 25 Singles - Jersey, Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 September

The tournament will be the first Under 25’s Singles Championships organised under the auspices of Bowls Europe and will include some of the best up and coming players from around Europe.

Bowls Europe Mixed Pairs - Jersey, Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 September

This will be the second Mixed Pairs Championships organised under the auspices of Bowls Europe featuring teams from across Europe.

World Cup - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Tuesday 4 to Saturday 8 November

Bowls Malaysia is to host the first ever 12-country competition taking place in November 2025.

The event, a platinum event in the World Bowls Series calendar, will be played at Bukit Kiara National Lawn Bowl Centre – the highly-acclaimed bowls venue which staged the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games.

Twelve countries will participate in the World Cup – the host country, Malaysia, plus the 11th highest overall countries from the 2023 World Championships – Australia, Canada, England, Hong Kong China, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, USA and Wales.

Hong Kong Bowls International Classic - Hong Kong, Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 November

The Hong Kong International Bowls Classic is a highly prestigious event in the lawn bowls calendar.

It began as a men’s pairs competition in 1981, with a men’s singles event added in 1983. In 2008, the program was expanded to include singles and pairs competitions for women.

The selected Bowls England team is:
