How do I buy tickets?

Ticket sales have no closed for our inaugural Awards Night and we look forward to welcoming you all on Saturday 19th of February.

Who can come?

Everyone! The Bowls England Awards Night is a fantastic opportunity to recognise bowls’ most deserving grassroots volunteers, officials and players for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

How will we be seated?

If you book a table, you will be seated with the people you list.

If you book individual seats, we cannot guarantee who you will be sat on a table with.

What precautions are being taken to minimise the risk of Covid at the event?
We will continue to follow and implement the latest government guidance regarding Covid and events for the BE Awards. We would also request all guests take a Lateral Flow Test prior to arrival and only attend if you receive a negative test. If you test positive and can provide proof of either a positive test, or a notice of the requirement to self isolate we will refund your ticket.
Do we offer refunds?

Tickets are transferable but not refundable (unless COVID related). If they are transferred after Friday 4th February, we will not be able to accommodate changes to the printed name card, meal choice and seating plan.

If you are unable to attend the event and you have already bought a ticket, you are welcome to let a friend or relative use this ticket in your absence. Please contact for any enquires regarding refunds, bookings and any other concerns or queries you may have  .

If you are unable to attend due to COVID, we will issue a refund. We will need to see proof of either a positive test, or a notice of the requirement to self isolate.

What if the event is cancelled or postponed?

We’re doing everything we can to celebrate the incredible work of the bowls community. Whilst we cannot control lockdown measures, we can guarantee that you will not lose the value of any tickets you purchase for the Awards Dinner. If a lockdown is enforced and we are no longer able to host the Awards Night as planned, we will provide all customers with a number of options to consider.

If I am showing symptoms of COVID, what should I do?

We ask anyone with symptoms of Coronavirus to not attend the Bowls England Awards Night. If you have symptoms or are self-isolating, please let us know at least four hours prior to the event.

We want to ensure we run this event as safely as possible and kindly request all guests to take a Lateral Flow test prior to arrival.

Do I need to show a ticket to get into the event?

For this event we will send you an email confirmation after booking. As we will have a guest list on the door, you will not need to bring the confirmation with you.

What should I do if I do not receive an email confirmation?

If you have booked as part of a table of 10, the email confirmation will be sent to the lead booker’s inbox.

What time do the doors open?

Doors open at 6.15 pm for a drinks reception.

Can I purchase tickets on the door for this event?

No. To attend this event, you must have pre-bought a ticket. Tickets can be purchased until Friday 4th February.

Who is invited to the VIP reception?

There will be a VIP reception hosted by our Board and Presidential Team. Amongst the invitees will be BE Presidents, BE Board, BE Life Members, BE Hon Members, BE Past Presidents, Shortlisted VIPs and County Administrators.

I have brought a ticket and have been shortlisted, what do I do?
Congratulations on making the short list! If you have already purchased a ticket Bowls England will offer a full refund. Please contact

How do I get to the Athena and where should I park?

The Athena is based in the heart of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. The City Centre location makes the venue accessible both by car and public transport.

By Car

On arrival into Leicester, follow signs for the Cultural Quarter. If you are using a satellite navigation system to reach us, please enter the postcode LE1 1SB.

By Bus

All Leicestershire bus services have stops within a 3 to 10-minute walk of the Athena. Services that stop on or near Charles Street, Humberstone Gate or at Haymarket Bus Station are the closest.

Regional bus services terminate at St Margaret’s Bus Station, Gravel Street, LE1 3AG (12 minutes walk from the Athena).

By Train

Leicester Train Station is less than 10 minutes’ walk away via Charles Street.

London to Leicester is just over one hour via East Midlands Railway, and there are also regular direct services operated from Derby, Sheffield and Nottingham.
