Bowls England is pleased to announce that all 18 days of the Aviva National Finals (10 – 27 August) will be streamed online, and available for everyone to view free of charge. Thanks to principal partner, Aviva, streaming will take place across the entire event, with one match from every session made available to watch online.
Following the success of last year’s National Finals, where over 100,000 people watched three days of matches, commitment has been made to stream all 18 days of the event in a bid to bring fans from all corners of England, and wider, even closer to the Finals action.
Over 40 matches will be available to watch, with the stream including live commentary and interviews from an array of players. Matches played on A green will be streamed, and fans can stay up-to-date with the action across the venue by utilising our updated live streaming platform.
Bowls England Chief Executive, Jon Cockcroft said:
“We are delighted to provide our fans with free live streaming at this year’s Aviva National Championships. As national governing body of the game, we continue to look for opportunities to increase the visibility of our sport, and streaming is part of this plan. This year, thanks to support from Aviva, we are able to showcase one match from every session, of every day, for free. Alongside this, we have also invested in more advanced live scoring, so fans can easily follow other matches as they watch live. We are excited to launch these initiatives and they help expand the viewership of lawn bowls.”
Doug Brown, CEO UK & Ireland Life, Aviva, said:
“We are thrilled to be part of the Bowls England family at an exciting time for the sport and are hugely excited to be supporting the inaugural Aviva National Finals at Royal Leamington Spa Bowling Club. Together, we can celebrate what makes Lawn Bowls great.
“At Aviva, we are committed to providing positive solutions which enable our customers and their communities to make the most of life. Through this partnership we are looking forward to helping enrich lives, connect communities, and support the health of the sport for future generations.
“We wish all competitors, officials, and fans an enjoyable tournament.”
The streaming platform will be provided by Staylive, who have extensive experience in building purpose built streaming platforms for national governing bodies. The platform provides tracking capabilities, such as data capture and traffic numbers, which will help build further insight in a bid to secure future interest in streaming at events.
Pontus Karsbo, CEO of Staylive AB, said:

With 35 County Associations and a commitment to growing the professional and amateur game, we are delighted to support Bowls England as they provide new means of access to both live and on-demand content to fans and participants of this historic sport.”
