We can’t wait to welcome spectators to Victoria Park for the upcoming British Bowls Championships and International Series. Here’s some helpful information about the event.
Getting Here
Arriving by Car
There is no event car park for the British Bowls event. There are numerous council-owned car parks within the local area, please click here for more information. For Satnav users, you can use CV31 3PT to get towards the venue and follow local signage for parking once in the vicinity of the venue.
Please note, there will be no parking available on Archery Road or the Old Tennis Courts Car Park and restrictions will be in place.
Arriving by Train
Leamington Spa Train Station is a 10–15-minute walk from Victoria Park, situated on Old Warwick Road.
Entry
Gates will be open from 8.30am daily, with access to the venue via the gate opposite ‘The Cricketers’ pub on Archery Road. Please have your tickets ready on a mobile device.
If a member(s) of your party has not yet registered for tickets they will be required to register at the gates. To ensure you are not delayed entering the event, please register in advance by clicking here.
One of our helpful volunteers will be at the gate at the start of the event, look out for them in their red volunteer polo shirts.
Programme
Our event programme is the perfect way to follow along with the Championship and International Series, with room to complete the scores, and team lists for each nation. Programmes may be purchased on-site for just £3, with all profits going directly to our Junior Development Programme – supporting the junior pathway and increasing youth participation.
Programmes can be purchased at the entry gate and from the tournament office.
We will also be collecting donations throughout the event for the Junior Development Programme, should you wish to contribute.
Event Cups
As part of our collective responsibility to be more sustainable, we are pleased to introduce reusable event cups for our events at Victoria Park.
There will be a £1 levy added to your first drinks purchase, and cups can be exchanged for a new one with each additional purchase. A cup refund scheme will not be in operation.
Food and Drink
The Royal Leamington Spa Clubhouse and Swirls café will be serving refreshments throughout the day. The clubhouse bar will open from 11am – close and Swirls café will be from 8.30am – 8pm.
Weather
The current forecast suggests light rain and some sunshine over the course of the event however, with the nature of the British weather, this is likely to change many times! With little shelter available at the venue, please be prepared for all weather eventualities and bring with you an umbrella and some suncream.
Smoking/Vaping Policy
The following areas shall be smoke-free at all times:
- the green;
- the bank;
- all indoor areas;
- all enclosed outdoor areas;
- all outdoor dining areas; and
- within seven (7) metres of any building entrance
When smoking /vaping please be considerate to other spectators.
Seating
A number of chairs will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. If you would like to guarantee seating during your visit, you may bring along a camping chair and set it up anywhere around the greens.
Live Scoring
Over the course of the event, live scoring will be taking place for you to follow along with all the matches across each Green. Get Behind the Team
There is still time to get more people to join us at Victoria Park. Spread the word and let’s get as much England support as possible! Spectators may turn up on the day, but they will need to register on the door. We encourage you to bring England flags and wear your England kit, to paint the venue in England colours.
