Bowls England is very pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Popple as the selector for the East region. Catherine, from Brampton BC in Huntingdonshire, will operate in an official capacity at the British Bowls International Series this week. She attended the Amy Rose & Walker Cup Regional Finals the past two weekends.

Catherine brings a remarkable breadth of experience to the selector’s team. Over her illustrious career, she has amassed 13 National titles and three British Isles titles. She spent 26 years as an England international, representing her country from 1987 to 2012. She also had the honour of competing in three Commonwealth Games (Canada 1994, Malaysia 1998, and Melbourne 2006) and participated in the Atlantic Rim Games in South Africa on two occasions.

Performance Director Mo Monkton expressed great enthusiasm about Catherine’s appointment: “Catherine is a great appointment as she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and will be a great asset to the Performance Team.”
