Bowls England organise a programme of celebration matches for affiliated clubs as recognition and as a reward for the brilliant work that they are doing. The matches can acknowledge significant anniversary or achievement at a club and the Celebration Match schedule is an important part of our event calendar each year.
Celebration matches are played by 24 players from the club and a team of 24 player representing Bowls England. They are traditionally been held between April – September on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Our team includes a wide variety of bowlers, ranging from our Under 18 Academy and development players, through to experienced internationals and Commonwealth Games medallists. The team may also include Certificate of Merit holders, key county volunteers, members of the Bowls England Board, Presidential Team or other invited guests.
