The Bowls England Loans Scheme, is just one of the many ways that we help affiliated clubs.
A total of £650,000 is available to support clubs who wish to improve their facilities.
In doing so, we help clubs to develop whilst at the same time putting our reserves to good use for the benefit of members.
A Club Loan may be used for any reasonable purpose including but not limited to:
- Purchase of lawn mowers, scarifiers, turf irons or sprinkler systems
- Repair of ditches and banks
- Clubhouse development
- Fencing
- Car parking
- Changing rooms
All clubs applying for a Club Loan must have been affiliated to Bowls England for a minimum of three years prior to application. Details of repayment periods and administration fees applied can be found here: Loans Repayment Admin Fees.

Testimonies from Affiliated Clubs
“As a Committee, we identified two areas within the club that required urgent improvement. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the funds available without putting an unacceptable financial risk on the club.
We looked at various finance options and it was clear, very quickly, that the Bowls England Loan Scheme was our best option, allowing us to spread the cost of financing over a long period of time with no interest payments. Therefore, allowing us to make the improvements straight away and finance this over four years.
The application process was based around some very sensible criteria with minimal workload required from the club to supply all the relevant information needed for the Loans Panel at Bowls England.
The whole process, from initial contact with Bowls England to the money being received into the club’s accounts, was only a matter of a month, with great communication throughout.”
