Bowls’ Big Weekend is back this year, giving the bowls community the opportunity to come together and celebrate our great sport, with clubs opening their doors for new people to start their bowls journey.
Clubs across the country will enable new participants to discover everything that is great about our sociable, accessible sport.
We are thrilled to have our new partner Aviva on board for this year’s event as we look to build on the number of clubs involved in 2022. Last year, 735 of our affiliated clubs staged 884 events.
When are the dates this year?
Bowls’ Big Weekend will run from Friday 26th to Monday 29th May 2023. The inclusion of the Bank Holiday Monday will provide clubs with greater flexibility to arrange their event and benefit from the national marketing campaign.
How do clubs register?
Clubs can sign up now to register your event(s) here.
Why should my club register?
Sharing your love of bowls with new people is a great way to build your club’s identity and sense of community as members come together to welcome aspiring bowlers.
How many people can we expect to come along to our Bowls’ Big Weekend event?
In 2022, more than 16 people attended each open day. We are confident that demand will be even higher in 2023 as we build on the positive promotion of our sport during the Commonwealth Games last year.
What materials do clubs receive from Bowls England?
All registered clubs will receive a resource pack including posters, flyers, new bowler guides and balloons in support of their big day. You will also receive a Club Information Guide and the opportunity to access additional resources including social media graphics, banners and other event materials.
