Bedfordshire County Bowling Association was founded in 1910 and was followed by Bedfordshire County Women’s Association in 1950. The two associations unified in December 2011 to become Bowls Bedfordshire for the 2012 season. Bowls Bedfordshire is affiliated to Bowls England the governing body for flat green lawn bowls in England. We are also affiliated to the Eastern Counties BA.
Our members compete at the highest level and can boast we have had members at the later stages of the National Championships regularly for the last few years.
In recent seasons Rhys Lee and Luke Nunn (Barton le Clay BC) won the Men’s Pairs title while Kim Tift, Jenny Mitchell and Jenny Dowers (Leighton Buzzard BC) were successful in the Women’s Triples.
The County also made consecutive appearances in the semi final of the Middleton Cup in 2016 and 2017.
