Devon’s Sophie and Sam Tolchard have won the Bowls England National Family Pairs competition, supported by the Friends of English Bowling.
The brother and sister duo from Kings BC defeated Northamptonshire brothers William and Jamie Walker (Northampton West End BC) in the final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa this afternoon.
Earlier in this morning’s semi-finals Sophie and Sam scored six shots on the final three ends to force an extra end against the 2017 winners, Tom and John McGuiness from Gerrards Cross BC in Buckinghamshire, and claimed the win on the 22nd end with the last bowl.
In the second semi-final, William and Jamie defeated the 2015 winners, Les and Chris Yeomans from Gosforth BC, Northumberland, 22-12.
