Farnish wins Men’s Senior Singles

Buckinghamshire’s Neil Farnish has won the Bowls England Men’s Senior Singles Competition, supported by the Friends of English Bowling.

He defeated Devon’s Stuart Evans in a thrilling final this afternoon held at a sweltering Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

Farnish and Evans both progressed to the final after comprehensive victories in their semi-finals against Norfolk’s Peter Wilkinson and Somerset’s William Anderson respectively.

Peter Wilkinson (N’folk) bt Mark Turner (N’thants) 21-8;
William Anderson (S’set) bt Ray Gaskins (Oxon) 21-9;
Stuart Evans (Devon) bt Keith Caldicutt (Hereford) 21-5;

Semi-Finals:
Neil Farnish (Bucks) bt Peter Wilkinson (N’folk) 21-2;
Stuart Evans (Devon) bt William Anderson (S’set) 21-7

Final:
Neil Farnish (Bucks) bt Stuart Evans (Devon) 21-16;
