We are a lawn green bowling club in central Berkhamsted, formed in 1985, providing facilities for outdoor bowling from late April to late September and a thriving social programme in the clubhouse for over 100 members. We are located in a beautiful and vibrant setting close to the town's High Street with the Grand Union Canal and surrounding open park area providing an idyllic backdrop.
We are proud to have been awarded the 2015 Bowls England National Club of the Year after being Runners Up in 2012 and 2013.
We encourage all ages, abilities and sexes to come and play, try our equipment, meet our members and invite potential new players have a go at various times throughout the season. We pride ourselves particularly on encouraging disabled bowlers; indeed we play a match every year against Disability Bowls England and have the 2017 World Blind Bowling B1 Ladies Singles World Champion (Sarah Marshall) as a member. Our level access to the green and ramp to the clubhouse make our facilities very wheelchair friendly.
We have a full fixture list of competetive matches in district, county and national competitions and mixed team 'friendly' matches against clubs in about a 25 mile radius of Berkhamsted. Informal/social bowling roll up sessions are held on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings and we run a strong programme of internal competitions culminating in the 'Finals Weekend' in early September.
Bowls is a great game: Come and Play it, Enjoy it and Have fun with Us!!!!
