Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, will truly be the home of bowls this summer. Birmingham 2022 and the Bowls England National Finals will draw players from across the world to the Warwickshire town.
The season starts with a Four Nations Test as England face representatives from Australia, Malaysia and Wales in both open and para events from Friday 6th May to Sunday 8th May.
The event features the England Commonwealth Games team that has been selected for Birmingham 2022 plus an England Lions team, providing the opportunity for our wider group of international bowlers to gain invaluable Test Match experience.
“It’s always great to get together as a full squad and this Four Nations event is another step on the road to the Games.” says Sam Tolchard, who will be appearing in his fourth Commonwealth Games.
“It will be a good chance to bowl together and continue to formulate our plans.”
Sam continues, “I am so excited about this summer. Home Games don’t come around very often, and I want to make sure I do all I can to help the team get on top of the podium in August.”
For many of the visiting players it will be their first visit to the area as they prepare for the Commonwealth Games.
There will be a variety of games across the three days that will mirror the Commonwealth Games format of Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours.
Spectators will be welcome to attend to see some of the world’s top players competing on the famous Victoria Park greens, entry to the event is free. Expect to see scintillating skill and powerful passion from some of the world’s best.
