Birmingham 2022: Men’s Pairs Silver Medal

Previous Commonwealth Games: Debut 2022

Jamie Walker has just turned 30-years old, another young player seeking to make his mark in the Birmingham 2022 Games. Jamie was drawn into the game by his father’s involvement, and as he remarks, “it just went from there.”

Jamie debuted as a junior in 2010, followed by a senior debut in 2013.

Early exposure to high-level bowls provided a solid platform to allow Jamie to convert experience into success. He won Bowls England Junior Bowler in 2014 and 2016, which reflects his unquestionable ability.

During the winter months, Jamie has moved from Northamptonshire to Devon, and will now ply his trade at Kings BC. Jamie is looking to enjoy the 2022 games after narrowly missing out on selection for the 2018 Commonwealth squad.

Securing the national singles title in 2017, he has notched up success in the Atlantic Championships Singles and Pairs gold.

Jamie feels that the use of Leamington Spa will create some real advantage for the home nations describing it as a “big advantage for whoever makes the England squad, and we should be looking to medal in every aspect.”
