Kent duo win Men’s National Pairs Championship

28th August, 2019

Kent’s Jason Haskins and Roger Kendrick have won the Men’s National Pairs Championship, sponsored by Bowling Abroad.

The VCD duo defeated Isle of Wight’s Darren Griffith and Jack Berry, from Shanklin BC 18-8 in this afternoon’s final at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.

It is Kent’s first success in the event since Colin Goldsmith and Gordon Charlton, representing Sandwich BC, secured the title in 2007.

A crucial count of six shots on the 17th end of the semi-final assisted Haskins and Kendrick, as they defeated Nottinghamshire’s Elliott Guthrie and Jack Emmerson from Newark Northern BC.

Griffith and Berry reached the final following a 22-14 success over Herefordshire’s father-and-son pairing of Mike Holmes and Dan Holmes from Ledbury.
