Louis Ridout

Club: Kings BC

County: Devon

Birmingham 2022: Men’s Triples Gold Medal and Men’s Fours Bronze Medal

Previous Commonwealth Games: 1

Commonwealth Medals: 3

This 32-year-old from Kings BC, Devon has many achievements that reflect his undoubted quality.

He has been selected for his second Commonwealth Games as part of the 2022 squad, to which he brings unquestioned ability.

Louis, at 32, is one of the younger members of the 2022 squad. Like many of his team peers, Louis learned the game through a close association with his parents.

At Donyatt BC and then Ilminster BC, Louis was always near to a bowls club, as his parents were club stewards. So it was not surprising that he was interested in the sport from an early age.

He translated this interest into becoming a player, resulting in a Junior international debut at the age of 18 and then making his senior debut two years later.

Bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and again in 2019 at the World Bowls Championships followed for a player who has enjoyed success in the domestic game with multiple wins at the Middleton Cup, the Top Club, and the Two Fours. Louis is a bowler who can find his way to the podium.

Louis will undoubtedly be looking to turn his 2018 bronze into gold at Birmingham 2022.
