The Men’s National Pairs Championship, sponsored by Bowling Abroad, is down to the final four after a packed day of play at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa.
In the first semi-final, Herefordshire’s Mike Holmes & Dan Holmes (Ledbury) will face Isle of Wight’s Darren Griffith & Jack Berry (Shanklin).
The Ledbury duo never looked back after scoring six on the eighth end against Wiltshire’s Russell Francis and Graham Shadwell (Spencer Moulton), whilst Griffith and Berry triumphed following a tight tussle against Derbyshire’s Josh Grant & Russell Robinson (Stute).
The second semi-final will feature Nottinghamshire’s Elliott Guthrie & Jack Emmerson (Newark Northern) who will face Kent’s Jason Haskins & Roger Kendrick (Vcd).
The Newark Northern pair recovered from an early 5-10 deficit against Northamptonshire’s Dave Mains & Jamie Walker (Northampton West End) to level up at 14-all after 14 ends and 17-all at 19 ends, before a count of four on the penultimate end proved crucial.
Haskins and Kendrick won through against Lincolnshire’s Paul Caress & Ashley Caress (Royal Mail Cart) to complete the semi-final line-up.
