Individual Competitions

Our competitions are open to players of all abilities – with a range of events designed to meet your individual requirements.

We particularly welcome entries from those who may not have entered one of our competitions before, as this is a great opportunity to improve your game, take on one of our elite athletes and perhaps win a place in the National Finals at Royal Leamington Spa.

All events are organised on a knock-out basis, with the the early rounds played locally and the National Finals at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, which will be the host venue for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

So whether you are a regular competitor or new to our sport we have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.

Senior Singles Aged 55 and over on 1st April 2021 Four bowls/21 shots up
Senior Pairs Both players aged 55 and over on 1st April 2021 from clubs within same county Four bowls per player/21 ends
Champion of Champions Singles Club Championship Winners 2019 and 2020 plus county/national winners 2019 Four bowls/21 shots up
Women’s Competitions
Senior Singles Aged 55 and over on 1st April 2021 Four bowls/21 shots up
Senior Pairs Both players aged 55 and over on 1st April 2021 from clubs within same county Four bowls per player/21 ends

Family Pairs
  • Eligible players should be from one of the following pairings:
    • Grandmother and granddaughter/grandson
    • Grandfather and granddaughter/grandson
    • Mother and daughter/son
    • Father and daughter/son
    • Sister and sister/brother
    • Brother and brother/sister
    • Step relatives of the above are also eligible to play
    • Marriage
    • Civil Partnership

Mixed Pairs 1 x man/1 x woman;
Both players from clubs within same county

Mixed Fours 1 x man/1 x woman;

All events are played in accordance with our Rules and Regulations and the current Laws of the Sport of Bowls.

Where do I play these matches?
The majority of qualifying rounds are held within your local area. The final qualification match is held at a neutral venue agreed by the players.

How are these matches arranged?
Matches during the qualifying rounds are arranged by the players.

When are these competitions played?
The qualifying rounds are held either on weekday evenings or at weekends – this is agreed by the players. The National Finals are held annually at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa – venue for the 2022 Commonwealth Games for Lawn Bowls.

  • Mixed Pairs – 16 teams
  • Mixed Fours – 16 teams
