Individual Competitions 2022

Our competitions are open to players of all abilities – with a range of events designed to meet your individual requirements.

We particularly welcome entries from those who may not have entered one of our competitions before, as this is a great opportunity to improve your game, take on one of our elite athletes and perhaps win a place at the National Finals at Royal Leamington Spa.

All events are organised on a knock-out basis, with the the early rounds played locally and the National Finals at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, which will be the host venue for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

So whether you are a regular competitor or new to our sport we have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.

    • Step relatives of the above are also eligible to play

    • Civil Partnership

All events are played in accordance with our Rules and Regulations and the current Laws of the Sport of Bowls.

Where do I play these matches?
The majority of qualifying rounds are held within your local area. The final qualification match is held at a neutral venue agreed by the players.

How are these matches arranged?
Matches during the qualifying rounds are arranged by the players.

When are these competitions played?
The qualifying rounds are held either on weekday evenings or at weekends – this is agreed by the players. The National Finals are held annually at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa – venue for the 2022 Commonwealth Games for Lawn Bowls. The schedule for the National Finals 2022 is here.

Qualifiers for National Finals

All National Competitions shall comprise of 32 areas – organised geographically to reduce travelling in the early rounds wherever possible. Counties with a high number of entries may be split into two areas, counties with a low number of entries may be paired with a neighbouring county to form an area. The round of 64 will be the area final (county final for most), the round of 32 & 16 will take place at a regional final – dates and venues to be confirmed – in the following Competitions:
