New Award for Clubs and Volunteers Announced

18th August, 2019

Has your club or county got a special story to tell, or has one of your members gone ‘above and beyond’ in 2019? If so, then Bowls England want to hear from you.

The ‘Story of the Year’ award, which is generously supported by Drakes Pride, has been introduced by Bowls England to recognise the work of clubs and volunteers across the country.

All affiliated clubs and county associations are welcome to nominate anyone, or anything, which they feel has been of particularly great benefit to our sport this season – with a host of great prizes for the winners including sets of bowls and a Celebration Match against Bowls England.

Examples might include:

• a club member who has gone to special lengths to help their club and/or county succeed
• a club that has seen a significant rise in membership and/or participation
• an event or occasion that, over the course of the 2019 season, has been of real benefit to the sport of bowls

All entries must be submitted in writing (using the attached application form) to: Chief Executive, Bowls England, Riverside House, Milverton Hill, Royal Leamington Spa, CV32 5HZ.

Alternatively, e-mail: john@bowlsengland.com

The closing date for entries is Monday 30th September 2019.

In return, the most inspirational entries will receive prizes supplied by Drakes Pride.

Please note that the ‘Story of the Year’ award replaces the ‘Club of the Year’ Award.
