As announced at the recent Counties Meeting, the Board of Bowls England has recently agreed to appoint a High Performance Director for the 2019 Atlantic Championships (World Bowls Qualifier), 2019 European Championships and 2020 World Championships. These events all leading to the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

Representative players for the above events will be selected for each event in turn and as Bowls England has such a strong talent pool, there is a likelihood that representatives will vary in accordance with the event and playing conditions. A high performance programme will enable Bowls England to balance the desire to be successful whilst facilitating a wealth of talent to have the window of opportunity to perform at an elite level.

The position of High Performance Director will shortly be advertised, but in the meantime the Board of Bowls England has asked Chief Executive Tony Allcock MBE to fulfil this role until such time as the appointment is confirmed.
