    JOHNS TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL RESULTS

Lincolnshire remain on track to defend the Johns Trophy, following a 38-shot victory over Nottinghamshire on Saturday (15th July).

This was helped largely by a 48-8 scoreline in favour of Penny Strong’s rink and a 41-10 victory for Jill Edson’s rink. Maureen Wilson’s rink also contributed strongly with a 24-8 win.

Lincolnshire will face Norfolk in the Semi-Final after a tight 112-109 defeat of Leicestershire. Leicestershire started the stronger of the two sides, and even led by 28-shots at 10 ends, however a spirited fightback from the Norfolk side secured their semi-final spot.

Kent are still on track to make amends for their defeat to Lincolnshire in last year’s final, after a 118-103 victory over Surrey. They will face Gloucestershire in the semi-final who defeated Somerset 129-120.

You have to go all the way back to 1949 for the last time that consecutive Johns Trophy finals were contested by the same teams, when Surrey defeated Essex in both 1948 and 1949.

Gloucestershire have only reached the Final once before, and interestingly, it could be a repeat of the 1991 final against Norfolk.

Full results from the Johns Trophy Quarter-Finals, that took place on Saturday 15th July, can be found below:

Therefore, the four teams that will contest the Semi-Finals of the Johns Trophy are Gloucestershire, Kent, Lincolnshire and Norfolk with the Semi-Final draw being as follows:

    Lincolnshire vs Norfolk

The Semi-Finals to take place at 9.30am on Saturday 5th August 2017 at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa. The Final will take place at 2pm on the same day.
