SUSSEX’S GINA SYMONS SECURES 2017 PATRON'S CUP
Sussex’s Gina Symons has won the 2017 Bowls England Patron’s Cup after an impressive +27 shot difference (35-8).
Symons’ success means that she is the first person to win the title twice, following her previous success in 2015, also with a +27 shot difference.
Special mention must also go to Cornwall’s Brenda Colston, who finished as runner-up with a +20 shot score line of 23-3, only conceding two ends in the process.
The competition is run as a fours on one day, with each player keeping their own scorecard. Each player plays four games of five ends and positions must be drawn for each game. The winner is decided on overall shot difference.
Each county winner is then submitted to Bowls England who collate the winners from all counties and the person with the highest overall shot difference being declared the National winner.
