Bowls England is saddened to advise of the passing of Arthur Hockley, a Past President of the English Bowling Association and Kent County.

Arthur was very highly regarded in our sport, serving as Kent County President in 1996 and EBA President in 2003.

He was respected by many teammates and opponents alike during his days playing for Betteshanger Bowls Club and was seen as a true gentleman on the green. His high level of sportsmanship was matched by his excellent skill.

His absence will be felt by many, and our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

If you would like to pay your respects, Arthur’s funeral will take place at 11am on Thursday 19th March at Barham Crematorium, Canterbury Road, Barham, Kent, CT4 6QU.
