Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, played host to a brilliant day of Para Open Pairs action on Sunday 22nd June, as 40 players competed in four competitive groups, all with their hopes set on qualifying for the Aviva National Bowls Finals this August.
Despite the challenging windy conditions, players adapted impressively and produced some fantastic bowling throughout the day. Three pairs navigated their groups undefeated, demonstrating real consistency and control:
- Daniel Adams and Chris Gray
- Dave Fisher and Kieran Rollings
- Sam Turner and Sam Gamble
Group A proved to be the tightest battle, with three pairs finishing on six points. Ultimately, Mike McDonagh and Stephen Stockley edged through as group winners on shot difference, with Luke Smith and Colin Wagstaff also progressing as runners-up. Last year’s Para Pairs champions, Jonathan Stokes and Jack Pullin, were unfortunate to narrowly miss out on shot difference.

Runners-Up: John Greaves & Craig Bowler (both Northamptonshire)
Group C
Winners: Sam Turner (Kent) & Sam Gamble (Northamptonshire)
Runners-Up: Colin Milner & Dale Large (both Hertfordshire)
Group D
Winners: Daniel Adams (Essex) & Chris Gray (Northamptonshire)
Runners-Up: Lawrence Oliver & Alan Lambourne (both Gloucestershire)
These eight standout pairings now progress to the final stages of the Para Open Pairs, which will be played at the Aviva National Bowls Finals from 18th to 20th August 2025.
