Our performance squad’s preparations for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games continue this weekend when they face an international select team.
The event will take place at Brampton BC in Huntingdonshire on Saturday and Sunday.
John McGuinness, Bowls England Performance Director, said: “This weekend gives us a great opportunity for all our international players (men, women, junior and senior) to play some top class competitive matches.
“Not only will this event provide tough competition for the High Performance Squad that are in training for the Commonwealth Games, it will also be used as part of our continuing assessment and development of all international players for future representative honours.”
Bowls England Performance Squad member, Ed Morris, added: “I’m really looking forward to playing against the international select team this weekend as it gives us the chance to test ourselves against some top opposition. It will also be the first time we’ve seen the majority of our teammates and friends for a long time now.
“We are playing against a combination of the junior and senior sides, so potentially quite differing playing styles which will require our full focus all weekend. It will be a great challenge and I can’t wait!”
