England’s Sam Tolchard has sealed his spot in the World Champion of Champions final at Naenae BC in Wellington, New Zealand.

Sam, who won the National Singles Championship in 2019, put his fine repertoire of shots on display in the semi-final against seasoned Irishman Gary McCloy – a former Commonwealth Games gold medallist – winning the shootout 10-6 10-4 to book his place in tomorrow’s final.

Devon-based Sam will face Malaysia’s Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple in the final which takes places 12:30pm local time (GMT+13).

Australia’s Lee Schraner’s title defence petered out at the hands of rising Malaysian star Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple in straight sets.

Malaysia’s Dzulkeple answered every question put to him by the experienced Aussie Schraner, and came up with some of his own, winning 10-3 7-5.
