Men’s Two-Bowl Singles – Winner: Sam Tolchard (Devon)

Devon’s Sam Tolchard sealed back-to-back Men’s Two Bowl Singles titles today with a 17-13 over Nottinghamshire’s Jack Emmerson in the final. It also becomes the third time Tolchard has won this championship, with the successes coming in 2016, 2021 and now 2022.

Tolchard was never behind in the final but Emmerson kept himself close behind well throughout the match. At 18 ends, Emmerson had pulled the final back to 14-13 after stringing four ends together.

Tolchard drew the shot with his last bowl on the 19th end. Then he followed that up with drawing both of his bowls within a foot of the jack to clinch the win.

In the semi-final, Tolchard beat Bedfordshire’s Mark Amos 16-5 after beating Danny Walker (Northamptonshire) 18-6 in the quarter-final.

Nottinghamshire’s Emmerson came through a tense match against Hampshire’s Leo May in the semi-final, winning 14-13. The Notts bowler emphatically beat Yorkshire’s James Dilks 18-2 in the quarters
