The Aviva National Finals is back for 2024 and is going to be bigger and better than ever before.

The 18-day festival of Bowls returns to the home of Lawn Bowls, Royal Leamington Spa – from Thursday 15th August to Sunday 1st September.

Bowlers across the country battle it out in regional competitions for five months with the goal of reaching the prestigious greens at Leamington and etching their name in National Finals history. With 37 different competitions at the event, the 18 days is packed with highly anticipated matches, rivalries and drama so, there’s not a day to be missed.

The Finals is packed with action, emotion, fun and friendships, so whether you’re an avid bowls fan, a lover of big sporting occasions or just looking for a completely new experience, there’s something for everyone at the Aviva National Finals!

Event Schedule

With 18 days of top-quality action across 5 greens, there’s plenty to watch.  You may be waiting for your friend or clubmates to qualify before picking a day or two but, if you are new to the event or are looking to see the big moments, here’s a little guidance.

  • Men’s Pairs – 18th to 21st August: Last year we witnessed one of the greatest finals of recent National Final history in the Men’s Pairs. It had everything, drama, excitement, high quality bowls and a game winning shot that will be remembered for years to come. Will the Leicestershire pair qualify and reclaim their title? Or we will see a new champion crowned in what promises to be an epic run to the final!

  • Women’s Top Club – 30th and 31st August – Kings Bowling Club (Devon) have claimed the Women’s Top Club title for a record breaking five years in a row. In 2024, they will be aiming to continue etching their name in the history books by going for their sixth consecutive title. Will anyone stop them?

  • Junior Singles (Men & Women) – 19th to 23rd August – The Junior Singles is one not to be missed. With so many highly competitive young bowlers across the country fighting to be crowned champion, year on year the competition goes up a level. You can come and watch the future stars of bowls battle it out on the green to win the hotly contested Men and Women Junior Singles title.

  • Middleton Cup (Men) – 1st September – The Middleton Cup has it all. 24 bowlers per team, 48 in total on one green, the stakes couldn’t be higher. If you’re looking for atmosphere, the Middleton Cup will deliver. The greens are buzzing, the crowds gather, this is the Champions League of bowls.

  • Women’s Senior Fours – 27th to 30th Teamwork is the name of the game when it comes to our fours format. In recent history, the Women’s Senior Fours title has changed hands year on year but will Isle of Wight quartet break that and retain the title, or will we be crowning a new champion at our Aviva National Finals? Running alongside the Men’s Senior Fours, our greens are full of highly competitive bowlers aiming to reach the pinnacle of bowls.

  • Disability Bowls England North v South – 31st August – With several Disability Bowls England formats, North v South is one to look out for. They might be friends off the green but on it both sides will be looking to claim victory.

Whatever the day, you will be guaranteed a great social occasion and a very warm welcome. See below for the full event schedule.
