View our free club support webinars now

29th July, 2020

Advice on funding, social media and communications can now be viewed on the dedicated Bowls England You Tube channel.

We created our recent webinar series following feedback from clubs who identified these as priority areas during our Covid-19 Club Survey.

More than 700 club and county representatives attended the webinars, which were presented virtually using Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

The social media and communications webinars provided insight and examples to recognise the importance of using effecting marketing methods as a tool for promoting and recruiting members to your Club, in addition to providing ideas to help retaining contact with existing ones.

The funding webinar showed attendees how to use our dedicated funding search service that we have developed to support Clubs. The service carries details of more than 9,000 funding programmes with the system identifying potential funding opportunities specific to your Club’s needs.

David Tucker, Chair of Bowls England, said: “These sessions were organised to directly help Clubs where additional assistance was identified. We are delighted that so many representatives attended these webinars and that those who were present found the content beneficial.”

Clubs that had representatives attend the webinars have already demonstrated an increased presence on social media since the session by actively engaging with each other to promote the #Back2Bowls initiative.

Kevin Burks, Secretary of Marske BC in Yorkshire, said: “The webinar was very informative and the use of an actual club that had successfully used social media was a great way to demonstrate that social media really works. The other suggestions regarding sponsorship and events that was shared were also very useful.”

John McKenzie, Webmaster for Ashcombe Park BC, Somerset, said: “Many thanks to Bowls England for arranging such an informative session. It certainly got the brain juices flowing and I’ll definitely be discussing the content further with those responsible within my club.”
