We’re looking for dynamic volunteers to be the heartbeat of our events – regional, national and international. Your support will be fundamental to the growth of our activities. In addition, we have teamed up with Birmingham 2022 to provide an opportunity for our members to volunteer at the Games.
Bowls England – Events
We are keen to develop our volunteer workforce to support the staff team in delivering events including regional finals, national finals and participation initiatives.
Our volunteers will undertake a variety of roles to ensure that players, spectators and other key stakeholders enjoy a memorable experience. Potential roles include media, scoring, hospitality and customer service, and relevant training will be provided where required.
We would now like to invite you to sign up for potential opportunities at our National Finals in 2021.

Birmingham 2022 – Lawn Bowls
As part of the Commonwealth Collective, you’ll be the public face of Birmingham 2022, the heart and soul of the Games experience for athletes, officials, spectators, and a global audience of more than one billion.
Birmingham 2022 has created three Sport Specialist Volunteer codes for Lawn Bowls & Para Lawn Bowls. The code will need to be entered in the exact format below, so please enter the code in capitals on page four of the Birmingham 2022 volunteer application form.
Each volunteer can enter one code only on their application form.
- Sport Volunteers: SPT-LBO
- Results Technology Services: RTS-LBO
- Sports Presentation & Medals: SPP-LBO
All potential volunteers are reminded that the code is a filtering mechanism used by Birmingham 2022, and use of a code does not automatically guarantee an applicant a role at the Games.
The volunteer application form will be accessed via a portal on the Birmingham 2022 website and will open on 1st June 2021 for a period of up to six weeks, so don’t delay in registering your interest.
Volunteers will need to register, before you log in the portal to complete the application form. Registration is open now, and will remain open for the duration of the application period.
Following the close of applications, Birmingham 2022 will begin the shortlisting process in July. Volunteer selection centres will run from September to December 2021 and volunteer offers will be sent in January 2022.
