Women’s Two Wood Singles Championship

Sophie Tolchard secured the Womens Two Wood Singles Title earlier today with a thrilling victory at the National Championships in Royal Leamington Spa.

Tolchard from the Kings Club in Devon overcame her disappointment of her final defeat in 2017 with victory over Donna Rock of the Gillingham Club, Dorset 19-9.  Tolchard who won 11 of the 17 ends played always looked in control, however Rock made a short lived comeback at 3-9 to 7-9 before Tolchard upped the pace scoring 7 shots over the next 4 ends to lead 16-7.

Rock produced a short rally over the next couple of ends only for Tolchard to seal victory 19-9 on the 17th end to claim the Winfred Coakes Trophy.
