Whether you are a secretary, treasurer or committee member, this section contains information to help volunteers in clubs and county associations.

Volunteers play a vital role in the sport of lawn bowls across England. Please see below useful links to external organisations that can help volunteers in clubs and county associations to run their club more effectively.

Sport England Club Matters
Club Matters offers free support, learning and guidance on all aspects of running a club. Club Matters online modules provide interactive and informative support, giving you the opportunity to access information at a time and place that suits you. Face to face workshops are available for those who prefer to learn from and with others, while the Club Improvement Tool is designed to get you thinking about your club and areas for improvement.

Active Partnerships
There are 43 Active Partnerships across England who work collaboratively with local partners to create the conditions for an active nation using the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives. In particular, Active Partnerships focus their efforts on inactive people and under represented groups who will benefit the most from an active lifestyle.

Sport England
Sport England is the government agency responsible for sport. Sport England also has a role protecting sports provision and must be formally consulted on any planning applications in England that affect playing fields. Bowls England is officially recognised by Sport England. Its vision is that everyone in England feels able to take part in sport or activity, regardless of age, background or ability.
