1,200 events; 700 clubs; 4 incredible days!

1st June, 2021

What a weekend! Bowls’ Big Weekend promised to be a carnival for our sport over the Bank Holiday, with record numbers of people flocking to our clubs across the country to try our great game.

Over 1,100 events took place all over the country at 603 of our affiliated clubs. The weather was certainly kind throughout the weekend

Well done to all of the clubs and committed volunteers all over the country who have dedicated their time to supporting the inaugural Bowls’ Big Weekend and for making it a success.

We have received some incredible feedback from some of our clubs already, such as:

  • “We could be doubling our membership as a result of today’s event!” Addlestone Victory Park BC, Surrey
  • “We ran out of membership forms!” Sawtry BC, Huntingdonshire
  • “We had 113 visitors of all ages at our very successful Open Day!” Yatton BC, Somerset

We committed to getting to as many Clubs over Bowls’ Big Weekend as we possibly could, and members of our Performance Squad, in addition to our Board and Staff team attended over 60 clubs throughout the weekend.

Our Performance Squad were on hand to assist many first-timers and club members with advice on how to improve their game.

We have collated some of the images and social media posts below as part of a gallery, however we’d love to receive anything from your club over the weekend. Please send to news@bowlsengland.com.
