Alison Yearling

Club: Plymouth Hoe Ladies

County: Devon

Birmingham 2022: Para Mixed Pairs B2/B3 Bronze Medal

Previous Commonwealth Games: 1

Alison was quoted before the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast as saying, “I feel very fortunate that I’ve had a lot of support from my family and friends, and also my work colleagues at Derriford Hospital, who have been really behind me. It’s been so lovely.”

Throughout her career, Alison recognises the incredible sacrifices others have made to her success. A journey that started in 2003 with her eye condition translated into taking up the game in 2009 and meeting her future director Sue Wherry in the same year. Early success cemented their relationship which continues today.

Alison enjoys the challenge of playing against other countries in International competitions and is keen to use our home advantage in the upcoming games.

She participated in the 2018 Games and has been a Disability Bowls England International since 2017. Alison has been involved in several international test matches and is a regular VIBE, club, and county competitor.

She cannot wait to step out onto the greens at Leamington.
