It was the final day of the 2023 World Champion of Champions at Club Robina with Edward Morris in Semi-Final action. He took on Scotland’s Darren Gualtieri for a place in the final.

Morris took the first set 4-2 and continued his strong start in the second set. Gualtieri fought back though and claimed the second set 6-3.

That took the match to a deciding set in which Morris led 3-1 after three ends. Gualtieri then made a two to bring the set level with an end to go. It was a close measure for shot with Morris’ last bowl to come, he played a runner but got an unfortunate connection on Gualtieri’s bowl and the jack. The winning bowl was Gualtieri’s after a measure, bringing to an end Morris’ astonishing run in the competition.

He collected a brilliant Bronze medal for his efforts. In the Final, Gualtieri was defeated by Wales’ Daniel Salmon 2-0. The Women’s Singles Final was won by USA’s Anne Nunes after she beat Guernsey’s Lucy Beere.
