Under 18 International Squad Announcement

12th July, 2023

Bowls England has named a 12-strong team to participate in the British Isles Under 18 International Series to be held at Ebbw Vale BC in Wales on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August.

Suffolk’s Charlie Beeton, who won the British Isles Men’s Under 18 Singles in Ayr last month, and Hertfordshire’s Rhianna Russell, the current Women’s National Two-Bowl Singles holder, have both been included in the team.

Bowls England has strategic commitment to ensuring that young players can fulfil their potential in the sport, and the Under 18 Internationals is a key building block towards this goal. The team was selected following the Junior Squad Day held at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, on Sunday 9 July attended by 100 young players.

Performance Director Mo Monkton said: “All of the young players performed exceptionally well and the selectors had an unenviable task in determining the final 12. I’d like to congratulate all of the young players for their performances and wish those selected the very best for the series.”

The Under 18 international squad will be sponsored by Bowls England principal partner, Aviva. Aviva will be displayed across the kit, which has been produced by Aceit.
