Bowls England is delighted to introduce Foster Johnson and Harry Nijjar to its Board of Directors.
Foster will join the Board as Director of Governance for two years, a role previously held by David Tucker before his appointment as Chair, with Harry holding the position of Independent Director (Marketing & Communications) for three years.
As the current North representative and Chair of Bowls England’s Audit and Review Committee, Foster is no stranger to Bowls England, carrying out successful reviews of the Management Accounts, Risk Register and Business Continuity Plan amongst others. He was previously on the English Bowling Association’s Policy Committee and Bowls England’s Policy and Management Committee.
At a domestic level, Foster is the Secretary and Official County Administrator for Bowls Durham, a position he also held for its predecessor, Durham County BA. He has overseen many changes to the Association which included the unification of the County in 2007 and the production of its new Constitution and Rules and Regulations.
Foster is well versed in the change management and business planning processes following a long working career within local government.
Harry has more than 12 years’ marketing experience in public and private sector organisations before setting up his own company in April 2019, an agency focussed on storytelling and creating content at scale.
Until recently, Nijjar was Head of Services Marketing for SCC, Europe’s largest independent IT business with annual revenues of £1.8billion. His role was to drive the marketing strategy and execution for SCC’s core solution areas that included the emerging 5G technology, data centre modernisation, public cloud services and business process outsourcing.
He has a strong connection with the University of Warwick, working for four years as a Marketing and Sales Manager for the department of Warwick Sport.
Foster and Harry will join the Board alongside David Tucker (Chair), Malcolm Evans (Director of Coaching), Margaret Docherty (Director of Competitive Events), Adam Tanner (Director of Development), Stephen Hemsley (Director of Finance) and Dr Anna Molony (Independent Director).
